West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin gave a special class on democracy when she visited Broadwas CE Primary School last week.
The MP was asked to speak to the school’s 80 students about her role in Parliament and answered questions about her job.
Harriett also showed the students what it is like to vote by leading a special ‘vote’ on the correct use of slides in the playground.
The special assembly was followed by a tour led by the school council and head teacher Mark Allen.
Harriett commented: “It was wonderful to be invited to come and talk to the school about my work as an MP so I thought it would be fun to give them a practical lesson on how democracy works.
“A lot of the children had very interesting questions to put to me and some had clearly spent a lot of time researching local issues.
“Broadwas CE Primary School is clearly a great place to learn and I would like to thank the students, head teacher and staff for making me feel so welcome.”
