West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has highlighted growing confidence in the economy with new shops opening up on Malvern’s high street.
Harriett visited the new Crew Clothing store, on Church Street, to welcome the popular high street brand to the town.
And the MP said that the new opening is an indication of the strength of confidence in the current economic outlook and a stamp of approval for Malvern town centre.
Harriett said:
“I was pleased to see Crew Clothing moving into the old Tourist Information Centre building and it is such a great location for a popular high street brand.
“This new opening is clearly a sign of confidence in Malvern and the town has seen some impressive new names leading the High Street’s retail revival following the pandemic.
“The old Brays building is now a hub of new shops with the old department store converted into an impressive retail space and flats.
“The town’s got a popular and successful Waitrose and a good array of independent stores and restaurants offering first class shopping and hospitality to local people and visitors.
“There are also vibrant retail opportunities in Barnards Green and Malvern Link and I’ve had feedback from local businesses that shopper numbers are extremely positive.
“This is great news for Malvern and with the on-going work at Malvern Theatre, the future is clearly bright for the whole of the town.”
