West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin enjoyed blazing sun in Pershore this weekend as a parade of brass bands played across the town.
The event was opened by a massed brass band including musicians from Hallow Primary School, where Harriett has been a Governor.
And the MP joined Wychavon District Council Chairman Gerry O’Donnell in the audience at the first formal concert, by Malvern Hills District Brass Band, in Pershore Abbey.
Harrriett praised organiser David Brotheridge and dozens of volunteers to help make the day-long event a huge success for local people and music lovers from all over the country.
Harriett said: “There was a real buzz in Pershore as some of the country’s best brass bands gathered to play in venues across the town.
“I am delighted to see this astounding event return to the town and I pay tribute to the hard work of David Brotheridge and the organisers who clearly worked so hard to make this day come together.
“It was a beautiful sunny day and it was fabulous to hear harmonies ringing out across the town.
“I am sure it has done a great deal to promote Pershore and I hope the town’s economy took a boost from all the extra visitors.”
