West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin is hoping a Worcestershire retailer will scoop the honours in a national search for Britain’s best small shop. The MP has backed a competition run by the Association of Convenience Stores which will shortlist 25 small stores to attend a national final held at the House of Commons. Any small retailer can enter and a panel of experts will choose one winner to be announced in November. Shop owners can find out more information by visiting www.bestsmallshops.co.uk. Harriett commented: “There are lots of little stores across West Worcestershire which seem to me to be ideal candidates to be awarded the ‘best shop in Britain’ and I hope that some of them will take the time to have a look at this award and have a go. “Small independent retailers are helping to keep our high streets alive and I am delighted to help to spread the word and hope that we have a winner in West Worcestershire.”
