Harriett Baldwin last week joined local police on a night-time patrol during the pre-Christmas festivities. The MP toured pubs and hot-spots in Malvern and Upton-upon-Severn with Malvern Police Inspector Stephanie Brighton and other community leaders (Friday December 20). The trip was part of Operation Christmas Presence, an annual initiative to demonstrate high-profile policing during the run up to Christmas. The patrol included visits to pubs in Malvern and Upton as well as a visit to the recently-closed drug den in Pickersleigh. Harriett said: “It was very useful to go out with Stephanie and the team on what is usually one of the liveliest days of the year. “It was very useful to get the insights of local police officers and understand some of the challenges they face throughout the year. “I would like to pay tribute to all local police officers and support staff and thank them for all their hard work. I hope they have a peaceful and quiet Christmas and New Year period.”
