New West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today fulfils one of her election pledges - to publish her monthly expenses. The MP announced greater transparency of her expenses following high profile criticism of MPs over the last two years. Harriett submitted a claim for 1,440 miles for driving to and from Westminster and to constituency meetings, £6.40 of miscellaneous expenses and £697 to recompense her for accommodation expenses. They have all been submitted to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority and on approval the details will be posted on Harriett’s website at www.harriettbaldwin.com Harriett commented: “There have been some initial teething problems getting the expenses system up and running but I will do my best to announce all my expenses in a timely manner so that the public can scrutinise this.”
