West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin this week made a visit to Tenbury’s postal sorting office to thank the team for their hard work over the last year.
The MP joined the 16-strong team during the early morning mail sorting and talked to staff about the challenges of delivering mail to a large rural community.
Harriett also helped sort some of the 80,000 letters which go through the doors of the town centre sorting office during the pre-Christmas rush.
Harriett said: “I wanted to take this opportunity to visit the Tenbury sorting office and personally thank all the staff for their unstinting hard-work over the last year.
“The Tenbury team cover a huge geographical area and at this time there is extra pressure on everyone to get post delivered in time for Christmas.
“It was very useful to tour the site and talk about the challenges that the postal service faces. I know we are all grateful for the work that our posties do keep the service running as seamlessly as possible during the Christmas rush ”
