West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her help to a company which makes the latest generation of disinfectants to kill superbugs.
Biotech International, based at the Top Barn Business Park in Holt Heath, manufactures and distributes disinfectants and sanitising products all over the world, which has even been used to help control the spread of the deadly ebola virus.
The company’s cleaning systems use nanotechnology to clean and disinfect surfaces destroying harmful bacteria and viruses in seconds, including hospital superbugs. They also offer better and longer-lasting protection than harmful bleach-based products.
The products are entirely organic and safe, and are even used to coat fruits like raspberries to keep them free from harmful bacteria during storage.
The company hosts visitors from all over the world to sell its products and has now set its sights on the UK market, including the NHS.
Biotech also manufactures an insecticidal paint, that when applied to surfaces in a home, kills all flying and crawling insects on contact. By targeting disease-carrying insects such as mosquitoes, it is helping to save lives all over the world.
Harriett met with company general manager Colin Mister and offered her help on the path to further expansion.
Harriett commented: “I was very impressed with Colin’s presentation and it is clear that Biotech is doing an amazing job across the globe.
“It is great to think that people travel from all over the world to Top Barn Farm to see how we are leading the battle combatting the spreads of serious infection and superbugs”.
“Biotech exports almost all of its product so I was keen to offer my help to the company to get a foothold helping our UK hospitals to prevent the spread of infections like the norovirus.”
Colin added: “We are delighted to take up Harriett’s offer of support to help people in the UK and around the world to have a better level of healthcare and also to help save lives.
“We are passionate about our products and after years of research and development, we hope that we may break into UK markets that have been extremely difficult to penetrate – including the NHS”
