West Worcestershire Harriett Baldwin has praised local employers who have filled her mail box with job opportunities for people made redundant by Dytecna this week. Nearly a hundred staff were made redundant this week after administrators failed to find a buyer for the Malvern defence engineering firm. But following an appeal Harriett made in the local media, a range of local companies have been in contact to offer vacancies including high-tech engineering jobs. Harriett commented: “I have been very pleased by the response from the local business community which has rallied round and replied to my appeal. “A number of local firms have been in touch with vacancies and several more have got in touch with Malvern Hills District Council. “I hope that we will be able to help to find fresh opportunities for much of the very talented workforce and the Job Centre Plus team has been onsite talking to staff. “I hope other companies which have vacancies get in touch and together we can help to reduce the impact of this unfortunate event.”
