West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin was grilled by two budding journalists last week when she visited Tenbury High Ormiston Academy. School newspaper reporters Eve Lambrick and Izzie Kite grilled the MP on a variety of subjects including school funding, university tuition fees and school transport. Harriett also met with head teacher Adrian Price and viewed the school’s impressive new auditorium. Harriett commented: “Both girls asked very intelligent questions and covered some very important topics. It was great to see how engaged they were and I look forward to seeing their article in the school paper. “Tenbury High has made great strides forward since it became part of the Ormiston Academy Trust and its recent results put it at the top of the class for the group. “I was grateful for Adrian’s time to update me on the schools progress and I will continue to work both in the constituency and in Westminster to improve the funding formula for local schools. “The Education Secretary said some very encouraging things on improving funding for county schools during a visit to Worcestershire, last week. “I promised Adrian that I will continue to press for the much needed steps towards improving the funding formula and helping successful schools like Tenbury High.” Head teacher Adrian Price added: “‘It was wonderful to welcome Harriett to our academy to meet with our pupils and see our fabulous new hall. “I really appreciate the time she spent discussing school improvement at Tenbury and value her support in ensuring that we continue to provide the very best for our pupils.” Photo: (l-r) Eve Lambrick, Harriett Baldwin MP and Izzie Kite.
