West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has this week renewed her support for efforts to secure the long-term future of the Post Office service in Lower Broadheath.
The Post Office is currently recruiting a permanent sub-postmaster to operate in the village shop and hopes to convert the store to share counter space to with the shop later this year.
The MP has had on-going discussions with senior Post Office management to discuss the service and has secured a commitment from them to maintain a Post Office in the village.
The Post Office team has met with the Parish Council to discuss this issue and Harriett has urged them to work with the council and other local community groups to find a long-term home for the service.
Harriett commented: "The Lower Broadheath Post Office is an important local resource and very handy drop-in for customers travelling in and out of Worcester.
"I have written to the Post Office asking them to consider all options and to work with local people to try and find a long-term solution to this issue.
"I would urge all the people who have written to me to contact the Post Office to reinforce their desire to maintain a full-time service in the village."
