West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin is to send in her views on the local planning strategy and has called on local people to get involved in the debate.
Three local district councils have been running consultation events to explain the South Worcestershire Development Plan. The deadline for responses is November 18.
Harriett has also heard from many local residents about the South Worcestershire Development plan and has used her response to the consultation to feed in those views as well as her own.
Harriett will formally deliver her response this week (Friday) and will publish the document on her website.
Harriett commented: “The South Worcestershire Development Plan is now locally developed and to be locally owned it needs to bring in everyone’s views.
“I know how much my constituents love and appreciate the area we live in and want to have a say in how the area develops.
“I know we all want a strong local economy providing local jobs, good transport links and homes that will accommodate older people, families and young people getting on the housing ladder.
“The coalition government has abolished the top-down housing targets and asked local councils to develop their own plans. For these to reflect local opinion, it’s really important residents write in to the consultation.
“The Localism Bill is set to become law soon, most likely by April 1 next year.”
