West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin last week performed the ceremonial switch-on of a new fibre broadband cabinet which will service the business community in Malvern.
The cabinet on Spring Lane serves a number of major businesses in Malvern and now offers superfast broadband speeds to companies on the Enigma Business Park.
The cabinet is the first in the county to be upgraded as part of the Superfast Worcestershire project managed by Worcestershire County Council.
Harriett commented: “I welcome the progress made by BT and the County Council to get project underway and I hope to be present at many more of these ceremonies over the coming months.
“Superfast broadband is especially important for businesses and I know that this upgrade will be welcomed by local users.
“Ninety-seven per cent of Malvern is now able to connect to superfast broadband and I am working with BT and the County Council to finish off the job as soon as possible.
“I have been briefed on the hold up in Malvern Vale and I understand that it will be resolved soon.
“I continue to urge local people to register their interest in superfast broadband by visiting the Superfast Worcestershire website and ensuring the project managers see where people need better connections most.”
