West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has ushered in a new era for the local Citizens Advice Bureau by opening its new headquarters.
The MP formally opened the new offices on the Enigma Business Park and met with staff and volunteers who are now based at the new offices.
Harriett congratulated the CAB, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Malvern, for its efforts to help those who require information and advice.
Major issues include debt, benefits, housing and employment problems, together with consumer complaints.
Harriett said: “My office works closely together with local CAB volunteers and staff helping people out where required and I truly value the work that they carry out.
“The new look CAB offices are going to make a great difference to both staff and clients who visit.”
Les Kinmond, chief executive of South Worcestershire CAB added: “This is our third reincarnation and, it is to be hoped, our last for many years to come.
“It was an unusual step for a CAB to move out of the town centre, but, as we all know, Malvern itself is unusual in having a number of separate and distinct locales.
“In the event it has proved to be a most successful decision, with clients finding it easy to locate and visit the bureau.
“I would like to thank the staff and a larger number of volunteers for their efforts. Without their commitment we could not provide the service that we do and I hope they welcome their new base.”
