Local MP Harriett Baldwin has praised QinetiQ’s continued commitment to Malvern at a ceremony to unveil new facilities.
The MP said that the building of a new reception centre at the Malvern site was further evidence of the company’s continued commitment to a long-term future in the town.
QinetiQ has invested £40 million in the site to replace the post-war facilities that housed many of the country’s brightest scientists and researchers.
The company has moved its reception site and main entrance to allow the disposal of land for much needed employment and housing development
Harriett commented: "I am pleased to be able to take part in the ceremony to mark another chapter in the life of this nationally important defence and research establishment.
"QinetiQ is a valued local employer and this site improvement work is yet more proof of the company's long-term ambition to invest and grow with the brilliant brains of Malvern."
Adam Palser, QinetiQ managing director of Technical Information Services, added: “The opening of the new reception and entrance is a pivotal moment for QinetiQ in Malvern as we continue to develop the site.
“QinetiQ has invested over £40 million in recent years, providing state of the art facilities to ensure that our employees enjoy the best environment on site to do their work.
“These essential changes to the site now offer us flexibility to help meet the future demands of the company as it continues to grow and develop. We remain committed to the area and are keen to play our part in making Malvern a recognised centre of excellence and thereby attracting other businesses and employment to the region.”
