Harriett Baldwin MP this week urged her constituents to speak up in support of their local bus services as the county council starts consulting on the future of services.
The West Worcestershire MP called on people to give their feedback to the 12 week consultation process which is due to begin next week (January 12).
Harriett has spoken to the county council and requested that it will accept weekly or monthly payments to ease pressure on family budgets.
And she has asked the team to make sure that people are properly consulted before any cuts in services are considered further.
Harriett commented: “I was briefed on the county council plans and was assured that the consultation process will ensure that all options are considered.
“I know that some people fear that they will lose crucial services and I hope that they will get involved in the consultation and have their say.
“Some rural routes are vital to ensure that people can travel to the shops and commute to and from work.
“However some services clearly are not used and it is a case of ‘use it or lose it’.
“I have already asked about making school trips more manageable for parents by accepting monthly or weekly payments.
“I believe that the council will be listening carefully to what the people say before taking any further steps.”
