West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin last week visited a Malvern technology firm to help them celebrate their latest award. Text Local, based in Malvern Hills Science Park, recently scooped a Chamber of Commerce Award, adding to its long list of national and international prizes. The company is now one of the largest digital marketing companies in the UK providing text message sales campaigns for companies including Pizza Hut, Sainsburys and Lloyds TSB. Harriett visited the Malvern office to find out more about the company and its role at the heart of the UK SMS marketing industry. Harriett said: “Text Local is an amazing company which is thriving in a fast-moving business environment. “Many of the text message marketing campaigns that we all sign up for are handled in Malvern and millions of text messages are sent out from the company servers each day. “As well as working with big brands, the company is looking to offer a cost-effective service for small business and I was eager to find out more and spread the word. “Text Local is yet another example of a company set up in a bedroom that now services thousands of companies and has created more than 20 jobs. “We have many really bright and dedicated people starting up and growing companies across the county and I am pleased to do whatever I can to help support them.”
