Harriett Baldwin was today voted onto the Work and Pensions Select Committee. Her role in the cross-party committee was confirmed yesterday afternoon following a vote amongst Conservative backbench MPs. Harriett, who was a pension fund manager before becoming an MP, brings a wealth of experience to the scrutiny role. Work and Pensions Secretary of State Ian Duncan Smith has described his role as a ‘once in a generation’ opportunity to reform the UK pensions and benefits.
