West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin will next week lead high-level discussions with a further group of senior Russian diplomats, businessmen and politicians.
The MP will play host to a visit by Bryansk Governor Nikolai Denin and a trade delegation on Friday (April 26) when they visit Worcestershire.
Governor Denin welcomed Harriett to Bryansk last year on a tour with bilateral trade discussions and he committed to a return visit the UK during that trip.
The delegation will meet county officials and business representatives at a civic reception at Wychavon District Council’s HQ in Pershore.
They will then tour Pershore Horticultural College and visit an asparagus farm as part of the whistle-stop tour of the county.
Russia is the UK’s fastest-growing export market and Harriett’s growing relationship with the Russian Federation Government has led to the lifting of the country’s ban on importing British beef.
Harriett commented: “I was pleased to hear that the Governor has agreed to visit us.
“The Bryansk delegation has expressed a particular interest in all things agricultural and horticultural in Worcestershire.
“I hope that Friday’s visit gives them a flavor of our fine location and fine foods.
“I am grateful for the organisations which have agreed to help us to give the delegation a warm welcome.”
