West Worcestershire MP has welcomed measures which will see investigations carried out on a notorious traffic rat run between Malvern and Worcester.
Worcestershire County Council has confirmed that it is investigating the busy Sparrowhall Lane in Powick which is used as a cut through for people trying to avoid congestion at the Powick roundabout.
Harriett has been contacted by constituents who have shared their concerns about speeding drivers along the country lane and the council has carried out an investigation and agreed to put speed warning signs on the road.
Harriett said:
“Speeding in rural areas is a major concern for my constituents and I regularly raise local concerns with both the county council and the Safer Roads Partnership.
“I have had some troubling correspondence from constituents about this busy road and it is even busier with the major road closures at the Powick roundabout.
“I am pleased that the council is looking into this matter, and I hope that people will be encouraged to moderate their speed and improve road safety.”
