West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed the news that a Brexit deal has been reached ahead of leaving the European Union on October 31.
The deal now needs to be agreed by the UK Parliament and votes are expected to be held at an emergency sitting of the House of Commons on Saturday.
Harriett commented: “I am pleased and relieved that a new Brexit deal has been reached and I encourage all of my Parliamentary colleagues to now back this agreement.
“The deal delivers on the result of the referendum allowing us to take back control of our laws, trade, borders and money without disruption and provides the basis of a new relationship with the EU based on free trade and friendly co-operation.
“I have consistently voted for a deal as this offers certainty for the businesses who trade with Europe, the farmers who sell their produce across Europe and who employ workers from across the EU.
“Parliament is expected to sit on Saturday, and I hope that we will move swiftly to pass the necessary legislation to secure a smooth exit from the European Union on October 31.”
