West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed efforts to improve signage along diversions around roadworks being carried out on the M50.
The major roadworks have resulted in road and bridge closures in Pendock and Berrow impacting local residents, school children and local businesses.
The MP recently met with the management team from Highways England, who are responsible for the work, and she passed on details of local concerns.
The management team visited the site to hear local worries – and in particular the impact on the local village store in Pendock – and agreed to improved signage around the diversion route to minimise impact on businesses and residents.
Harriett said: “I had a constructive meeting with the Highways England team and they asked me to pass on any local concerns about businesses which may be affected by the essential roadworks.
“I have passed on local concerns and am pleased that the agency is working proactively with residents and both Gloucestershire and Worcestershire County Councils to fix problems as they emerge.
“These major roadworks are set to impact local road users until at least Christmas and I have asked they Highways England keep in close touch with the community to reduce the disruption as much as possible.”
