Hundreds of people completed a walk along the Malvern Hills to raise thousands of pounds for the Help for Heroes charity. West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin joined local volunteers and spectators to welcome people who had completed the walk over the hills to fund-raise for the popular charity. Over 400 people braved heavy showers to complete two routes along the length of the Malvern Hills ending in the Rosebank Gardens in Great Malvern town centre. Harriett chatted to volunteers, helped to present medals to the finishers and met with Invictus Games competitor Steven Cokayne who is shortly travelling to Canada to compete in the 100 metres, shotput, discuss and powerlifting events. Harriett commented: “I was delighted to be asked to present medals to some of the people who battled the elements to complete this wonderful challenge. “It was great to talk to Steven about the up-coming Invictus Games and I wished him good luck as he prepares to compete in Toronto. “The walk is a really successful fund-raising event and I took the opportunity to thank all the volunteers, who make this day possible. “It was great to see people of all ages giving up their Saturday to take up the challenge of walking our beautiful Malvern Hills and raising money for such an important cause.”
