Harriett Baldwin MP has today welcomed a series of lottery payouts for community projects in her constituency.
Cash from the 'Big Lottery' fund has been handed out to five projects across the county including a massive £286,875 to improve village hall facilities in Stoke Bliss.
Other projects include £10,000 for improvements to Abberley Village Hall, £9,956 funding for a water search and rescue charity, nearly £10,000 for equipment for Hallow Scout Group and £10,000 to buy netbooks for the after school club at Sedgeberrow Primary School.
Harriett commented: "It is great that so many local communities are able to benefit in this way and I have been impressed by the innovative bids that people have put in to help their communities benefit.
"The National Lottery fund has helped support our Olympians and other big projects but it is important to remember that it supports organisations of all sizes.
"Whilst all the publicity focuses on turning people into millionaires, the fund ploughs millions more back into good causes.
"I think it is great that local groups have secured this money and I look forward to seeing the results of these projects as I travel around the constituency."
