West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has today welcomed progress on plans to complete the upgrade of broadband internet connections to Malvern.

Harriett met with new Conservators’ director Stephen Bound to discuss the upgrade of BT’s cabinets on protected land in the Malvern Hills.
Harriett said: “I have contacted both parties over recent weeks to discuss this issue and to reinforce how important it is to compete this part of the upgrade project.
“I have been told that a wayleave agreement has now been reached and three cabinets will be installed to service West Malvern and Malvern Wells.”
“BT will now put in a planning application to Malvern Hills District Council and I hope this can be done quickly and approved quickly.”
“I have also had discussions with Ofcom about making sure that other internet service providers can use the upgraded cabinets as we need competition in this important area of 21st century infrastructure.”
