West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed progress on the long-running process to deliver a planning blueprint for south Worcestershire. The South Worcestershire Development Plan will be voted on by Worcester City Council, Malvern Hills District Council and Wychavon District Council later this month after Planning Inspector Roger Clews completed his investigations into the plan. Harriett has expressed frustration about the time it has taken to confirm the plan but welcomed the progress. Harriett commented: “It is immensely frustrating that the consultation process for the ambitious South Worcestershire Development Plan has been so long but I welcome the news that it will be put before local district councillors this month for their approval. “This will mean that we will finally have a blueprint for new development which create a platform for economic growth for the county.”
