West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has praised bank staff for their excellent customer service attitude during a visit to Malvern’s TSB branch. The MP met with staff and customers at the bank on Church Street and discussed the importance of keeping branches open across the county. The visit was proposed after Malvern townspeople lost a series of banks including the closure of Lloyds and HSBC branches. Harriett was briefed by regional director Claire Steele and local branch manager Lucy Bailey about the bank’s efforts to support the local community. Harriett commented: “We have seen some of the banks closing branches and reducing opening hours, so it was most heartening to chat to the Malvern TSB staff and hear their very positive views on local banking. “I have always encouraged people who are unhappy with their bank to switch to another company. TSB has taken on new customers by being a strong and friendly local branch. “Having chatted to the staff, it is clear that they know their customers very well and are able to go the extra mile to make sure they are happy. “This is so important where a good personal relationship can help their customers to spot and combat fraud. “At a time when there is a focus on shifting business online and becoming less personal, I found the attitude of Malvern’s TSB staff very refreshing.” Photo: Malvern’s TSB branch on Church Street (l-r) Lucy Bailey, Harriett Baldwin MP, Claire Steele and Amandeep Dhillion.
