West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today welcomed a vital cash injection to improve the county’s transport infrastructure. The Government today announced a package of measures to boost transport links across the county including improvements to the southern link road and investment in Malvern Link’s train station. Harriett has been an active campaigner to improve links and has met with the Secretary of State for Transport and her Ministerial team to discuss the problems facing county commuters. Harriett said: “I raised this vital issue with the Department more than a year ago and repeated my suggestions in a meeting with Justine Greening last month. “I am pleased that some of the important items on the county council wish list will now get investment helping the entire county to be open for business. “The road and rail network are vital economic arteries and it is crucial that we will be able to bring some much needed relief for those who travel to and from work each day. “I will continue to press for the additional investment in the Cotswold Line to allow a faster, more frequent and more reliable train service to London and I am looking to the county to identify how it will spend its £10 million to make our rural broadband problems disappear.”
