Philip Hammond MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions visited the new hospital in Pershore and the GP Medical Practice with Harriett Baldwin, Conservative Party Parliamentary Candidate for West Worcestershire.

Dr. Chris Perks was on hand to show them the new facilities for the GP partnership, and to take Philip and Harriett on a tour of the hospital.

Philip Hammond said, "I was fascinated to see the new facility which was built on time and on budget for the GP partnership and the PCT. It is a first in the country and obviously makes economic sense for all the different organisations that contributed - Wychavon District Council, the PCT and the GP partnership. I also saw the new suite of rooms for the NHS dentist I understand the Friends of Pershore Hospital also made a significant contribution to the facilities and equipment, like these exercise bicycles. It is a very impressive medical centre and a fantastic example of an award-winning council working with the local health community to deliver what the local population wants."
