Post Office Makes Two Special Xmas Deliveries

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed news that two vital Post Office services are being returned to rural communities in the New Year.

Harriett has worked closely with Kemerton villagers who have called for a mobile post office to replace the service which was withdrawn in 2018. This has resulted in a mobile service being allocated to visit the village from January 4.

The mobile service, which is run out of Evesham’s main Post Office, will also visit Beckford, which saw the store closed down in December last year. A full-time solution is still being identified but villagers will be able to use the temporary mobile service in the interim.

Harriett said: “Rural postal services are essential, particularly for elderly residents and I have worked closely with the Post Office team to lobby for solutions including the mobile post office.

“I am glad that two rural villages will see a return of a service and I’ll keep speaking up for solutions which allow people to access post office services closer to their homes.

“I’ve supported successful community schemes in Alfrick and Lower Broadheath and I hope other villages are able to look at this model to return Post Office to rural West Worcestershire.”
