West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today visited the winner of a county-wide speech competition. Harriett awarded the prize the Callow End Primary pupil Finn Ellison, aged nine, who was awarded first prize by judges from the NHS Speech Therapy team. Finn put his question to the MP about why there is life on earth during a visit to the school today (Friday January 31). Harriett said: “I was pleased to be invited to visit Callow End Primary School and meet Finn in person. “He posed a very interesting question and which made me think quite a bit and I am sure that the school and his parents are pleased with his winning performance.” The competition was run by the NHS Health and Care Trust and Finn’s question has helped the school to win a package of specialist training devised to encourage children's communication skills within the classroom, delivered by the local Speech and Language Therapy Department.
