Despite the serious flooding in Teme Street at the end of June, the Malvern Hills District Council team succeeded in refurbishing and reopening the Tenbury toilets last Saturday.

A crowd of delighted local people of all ages queued to be first to use the facilities, while sparkling wine was provided by local traders.

Leader of Malvern Hills District Council Serena Croad cut the ribbon at the ceremony, while Tenbury Mayor Bob Martin and Tenbury District Councillors Phil Grove and Tony Penn looked on.

The Tenbury toilets are the last of three sets in Malvern Hills District that have been reopened in only two months since the local elections.

Serena Croad said, "I am delighted that we have fulfilled our pledge to reopen the toilets so quickly. Well done to everyone involved."
