West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has secured the support of the TSB branch in Tenbury, following the closure of the town’s Post Office, earlier this month. The bank has offered extra help to local people who need to access banking services until the new post office is opened in the town. At least two organisations have express an interest in taking over the post office franchise and a decision will soon be made on the new location. Harriett wrote to TSB warning them about the impact of the post office closure on local people who will be without access to vital banking services. Harriett commented: “The closure of the town’s post office is having a far-reaching impact on local people and local businesses and I wrote to the bank asking them to do all they can to help out. “Although the post office closure is only temporary, I continue to press for short-term fixes to reduce the inconvenience suffered by people living and working in Tenbury. “I am pleased that there is strong interest in replacing the post office and hope that the decision-making process can be expedited to return services as quickly as possible.”
