The return of the village store and post office at Lower Broadheath has moved closer following the intervention of West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin.
Volunteers from the village store management team recently met with Harriett and representatives from the Post Office to identify a plan for resuming postal counter services as the new village store opens later this year.
The group has been fund raising and has hit its targets with a local share issue and the Post Office has confirmed that it is working closely with the volunteers to ensure that services can be offered at the location.
The MP has been working hard with the local group since the old post office closed down following the closure of the Lower Broadheath village store.
Harriett commented: “I have been following this issue very closely since the old village store closed and have urged the Post Office to work closely with volunteers to try and resume services as quickly as possible.
“I have been pleased by local feedback that a solution is taking shape and that the local fund-raising has hit its targets.
“I continue to keep in close contact with the management team and have offered my help as they move closer towards opening the store in the coming months.”
