The Post Office is due to consult on proposed changes which could see Holt Heath’s service moved away from the village.
The organisation has written to West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin confirming plans to consult on the proposal which will see the post office franchise moved down the road to Holt Fleet.
Harriett was approached by Holt Heath Parish Council and local residents regarding the proposed changes and has written to the Post Office’s chief executive Paula Vennells to ask for an update on the plans.
The MP has also discussed the matter with Malvern Hills District Councillor Pam Cumming and Harriett briefed her the latest news from the Post Office management team.
Harriett said: “Holt Heath’s Post Office has been a challenging issue – I was first asked to lobby to protect the services when I was first elected and I know local people value having a convenient outlet in the centre of the village.
“I have already passed on the thoughts of local people to the Post Office senior management. A formal consultation process will be opened shortly and I encourage as many people as possible to take part and share their views.
“In my experience, the Post Office has been very receptive to finding the best possible solution for the local community and I am immensely proud of the community-led schemes now running at Lower Broadheath and Alfrick.
“I am assured that the Post Office will take all views into account whilst considering this move and I am sure local people will take the time to have their say.”
