West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin joined local residents in Tenbury using the free bus service shuttling people to a nearby post office. Kyrebrook Daycare Centre has agreed to take local people to the nearby Leysters Post Office three days a week while the town’s own post office is temporarily closed. The MP joined local people preparing to take the shuttle service on Friday (May 31) and chatted to Ria Baxter, who is running the service. Tenbury County Councillor Ken Pollock has also offered financial support for the service, which is free to use for people who need to use post office services while the new location is being agreed. Harriett commented: “This gesture by Kyrebrook Daycare Centre is extremely helpful and I took the time to visit Tenbury to thank Ria Baxter in person. “Although the Post Office assures me that a replacement solution plan is well underway, some people who are not able to travel under their own steam are left without a local service. “This shuttle service will be welcome news for local people who are anxious about accessing post office services and I am pleased to see Ken Pollock also offering his support. “I’m getting weekly updates on the progress finding a new venue for Tenbury’s new Post Office and I continue to keep the pressure up on Royal Mail about the problems resulting from undelivered parcels in case it can find a fresh solution.” Photo: Harriett Baldwin MP (far left) and Ria Baxter (second from left) are joined by local people celebrating the temporary shuttle bus service for Tenbury residents.
