West Worcestershire MP, Harriett Baldwin this week called on shopping guru Mary Portas to visit the county in a Government-sponsored review project. The TV retail expert has been recruited by the Government to carry out a review of high streets across the UK. Harriett has written to the Department for Business Innovation and Skills requesting that Ms Portas visits Malvern, Pershore, Upton-upon-Severn and Tenbury as part of this review. Harriett said: “Local people work very hard to promote their independent businesses and all four towns in West Worcestershire have a fantastic range of interesting shops. “It would be great if Mary Portas could visit and see what we have and also hear about some of the challenges.”
