West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin today backed two leading Malvern companies in a campaign to support British manufacturing.
The MP has been asked to nominate companies carrying out world-class manufacturing work in her constituency.
Morgan Motors and Malvern Instruments have both been nominated by the county MP.
The campaign – Made by Britain – was launched by Business Secretary Vince Cable earlier this month.
Harriett commented: “There are many small and medium sized companies in the county which quietly go about their business manufacturing world class products.
“Many are the lynch pin of the defence industry and do very important work for our nation. It has been hard to select only two firms.
“Both Malvern Instruments and Morgan Motors are world-renowned and I have been happy to submit their names to the Department for Business Innovation and Skills.”
The companies will be submitted to the department and will form part of a worldwide campaign to promote manufacturing excellence.
Harriett added: “I want to see the British economy with a stronger manufacturing base and I want to see a better balance between the economy in the South East and the economy in the Midlands.
“I am pleased to be part of a campaign to promote Malvern’s expertise to countries across the globe.”
