Harriett Baldwin today called on local sports organisations to bid for a share of a £50 million fund to help improve community facilities.
Sport England, which manages the fund, wrote to the MP asking her to encourage local organisations to bid for a share of pot.
The aim of the fund is to invest in refurbishment projects for facilities supporting sport in their local communities.
Applications can be submitted by organisations entitled to receive public funding, voluntary or community organisations, local authorities, sports clubs, playing field associations and education establishments.
Harriett said: “West Worcestershire residents love their sport and we have some great sports facilities already. However, I am sure there are some local organizations and community facilities which could do with some additional funding, particularly in the run-up to the Olympics next year.”
