West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin will join pupils from four county schools on a trip to Auschwitz to this week to see the concentration camp museum.
The MP has been invited on the trip, organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust, to accompany pupils from Dyson Perrin Academy, Pershore High School, Chase High School and Hanley Castle High School.
Harriett will take part in a day-long tour of the museum set up in the remains of the Auschwitz concentration camp in southern Poland.
Harriett commented: “It is seventy years since the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto. Each year, I sign the book of remembrance in the Houses of Parliament to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day.
“It is vital that we educate future generations on the horrors that were endured in the concentration camps and make sure that we never forget the scale of this evil slaughter of innocent people.
“I am pleased that several schools from my constituency will be represented on this trip and I support the work of the Holocaust Educational Trust to help young people appreciate the reality of the Holocaust.”
