Time is running out to book your space at a major free summit to discuss rural broadband solutions and people who want faster broadband in their village are urged to book up or miss out.
The event, hosted by West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin, will be held at Wychavon District Council’s HQ in Pershore on May 10.
The summit is designed to help rural communities find out what steps can be taken to solve the problem of poor broadband speeds across the county.
There will be several different technology solutions which are all available now and are being used today to bring fast broadband to rural Worcestershire.
The keynote speaker is Cumbrian MP Rory Stewart who worked with his parishes to solve similar problems in his constituency.
National broadband expert Malcolm Corbett from INCA will held to lead a group session on understanding what solutions are available now.
Worcestershire County Council will also be giving an update on the progress being made to spend more than £10 million upgrading the county broadband network.
Community leaders, parish representatives and businesses are being invited to attend the event and participate. The event is free and open to all.
Interested parties can sign up to attend the event by contacting westworcsbroadband@gmail.com or calling Harriett’s office.
Harriett commented: “I have been an active campaigner for proper rural broadband connections to give all of my constituents fast access to internet services.
“More and more of our daily tasks are being carried out online and I feel it is essential that everyone gets a workable speed.
“I am pleased that we have a great collection of speakers to attend and I look forward to anyone who is interested in getting faster broadband today.”
