West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has this week welcomed the return of Post Office services to Lower Broadheath.
The MP has been working behind the scenes with senior Post Office management to ensure the swift return of the counter service.
The Post Office has confirmed that it is "fully committed" to maintaining a service in the village and is having ongoing discussions with the village shop owner to secure a long-term future for the service.
The counter service was due to restart today (October 1) after a temporary closure owing to staff illness.
Harriett commented: "The Lower Broadheath Post Office is an important local resource and very handy drop-in for customers travelling in and out of Worcester.
"I am pleased that the counter service is scheduled for return this week and I know that this news will be welcomed by the dozens of people who have written to me over the summer.
"It is now important that the Post Office works with the local community to ensure that there is a long-term home for the postal service at the heart of Lower Broadheath."
