West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed a new era at Tenbury High School with the opening of a new education block at the school.
Harriett was a guest at the celebrations to mark the opening of new facilities which will improve the teaching of English and Maths at the school.
And the MP praised the local community which contributed nearly
£50,000 to the project which will give local pupils impressive new buildings and additional space.
The project, funded in the main by Worcestershire County Council, cost £1.81 million to complete.
Harriett said: “These are very impressive new facilities and I am sure they will be welcomed by the current students and many generations to come.
“I support the school’s attempt to focus on improving its performance in English and Maths which are crucial subjects to allow students to go on to further study.
“I congratulate the county council on completing this project and thank the local community which has rallied together to help the school.
“I have offered my continued support to the headmaster and his team and hope that the school continues to show improvement over the coming months and years.”
