West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed another company which has chosen to base itself in the growing cyber security cluster at Malvern Hills Science Park. IASME helps small and medium-sized businesses to protect themselves from cyber-attack and it has developed a standard for assessing risk which has been submitted for consideration by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills. The IASME team has also teamed up with computer giant HP to offer the cyber security standards to some of its smaller customers, worth an estimated £250,000 in potential new business. The company recently moved its operation to Malvern Hills Science Park to close to the National Cyber Security Centre and the growing cluster of small businesses based in Malvern. Harriett commented: “I am delighted to see another company choosing to base itself in our growing cluster at the heart of ‘cyber valley’. “We have a cohort of brilliant brains based in the town developing some of the brightest new thinking in the cyber security industry. “The Government’s long-term economic plan is delivery huge growth in this sector and is putting Malvern firmly on the map. “I have had discussions about the IASME standard when the Science Minister visited us in Malvern and it is great the HP has already hopped on board. “I wish the company every success as it helps to make small and medium sized businesses appropriately protected from cyber-threats.”
