West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has called on county train passengers to have their say on proposals which will see changes to next year’s Cotswold Line timetable.
The proposed changes will see more and faster trains between the county and London including a faster train from Hereford to London early each weekday morning.
The MP has been consulted on the proposals and has formally written to Railways Minister Claire Perry offering some feedback on behalf of consumer groups and constituents.
Harriett has resisted a series of changes to the service including removing four stops from Pershore station and she insisted that the train operators work closer together to make sure that local people are not inconvenienced by the new timetable.
Harriett commented: “We all want faster, more frequent and more reliable trains along the Cotswold Line and I welcome some of the plans to introduce faster trains, better rolling stock and additional services onto the network.
“Nevertheless, I strongly resist cutting stops at Pershore and have asked FGW to work with London Midland to ensure convenient connections.
“I have set out my concerns in a letter to the Minister and I am waiting for her response.
“It is now important that local people have a look at these proposals and have their say. I will be making the information available on my website to allow people to consider the changes.”
