West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has called on mental healthcare bosses to consider other options to avoid closing down the highly-valued Link Nurseries care facility. Harriett met with NHS Health and Care Trust chief executive Sarah Dugan to discuss proposals to withdraw funding from the Link Nurseries. The two agreed that it is important to consider alternative solutions which will keep the resource in operation. The MP visited the facility last month to discuss the issue and pledged to meet with both healthcare chiefs and also a delegation from Worcestershire County Council. Harriett said: “The weight of support for this resource is impressive and it strikes me that we must all work together to try and find a solution to protect this service. “The meeting with Sarah Dugan was a good start and I am pleased that she is listening to both my representations but also the dozens of people who have written both to me and to her to try and save the Nurseries. “I will be meeting with the county council in a couple of weeks and I hope that between us, we are able to find a solution before the Health and Care Trust press ahead with closure.”
