West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has offered her help to groups who have expressed an interest in maintaining the popular Link Nurseries NHS facility.
The MP has met with local health chiefs, county council representatives and business leaders to attempt to secure a sustainable future for the horticultural site in Powick.
Harriett has also visited the site twice to talk to members of staff to identify possible alternatives once the NHS Health and Care Trust carries out a reconfiguration of its services, moving the staff to Worcester.
Harriett commented: “I remain disappointed with the rushed NHS process and I am convinced that together we can find a solution which benefits the staff, service users and the local community.
“Last month, the Government announced an additional £600million for mental health services and billions more funding for the NHS, so I would hope we can find a way to reduce the impact of this NHS service reorganisation.
“I have been heartened at the way the local business community has come forward to offer support and I will be trying to help get all the interested parties around a table to identify a win/win situation.
“However, having spoken to the local commissioners and county council, I am convinced there is a way we could make more use of the site and turn it into an even more impressive resource.”
