West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has helped improve road safety at a fast stretch of road at Aston Somerville.
The MP intervened on behalf of local villagers who were concerned about visibility along a stretch of the A46 Cheltenham Road. A series of six reflector posts have now been installed which will help to improve visibility and prevent risk of future accidents.
Harriett explained: “Villagers had been lobbying the Safer Roads Partnership for better visibility along the A46 since April and one constituent visited a recent surgery to talk about this problem in detail.
“I agreed to raise this matter with the Highways Agency and I was delighted to receive a communication confirming that the high-visibility bollards have now been installed.
“I hold advice surgery sessions helping hundreds of people each year and this is just one example of how I am able to speak up on behalf of local people.
“MPs are free at the point of use and I encourage people who have issues or concerns to get in touch. If I am able to help, I will do my best.”
