The five year fund will continue to invest in cyber security expertise to make Britain the safest place in the world to do businesses and will tap into expertise from industry and academia to take event greater steps to defend ourselves in cyber space. Malvern is an acknowledged hub of expertise in this area with the defence giant QinetiQ working alongside a number of small and medium sized expert cyber businesses. Harriett commented: “I have actively supported the impressive cluster of businesses which now operate to help keep our cyber-borders safe and I am sure they will be pleased to see this continued Government investment. “One of the key issues is training enough people to allow our country to compete, and I am pleased that we have a training resource based at Malvern Hills Science Park to add to this effort. “I have worked to make sure that the brilliant brains of Malvern have been at the heart of a nation’s cyber strategy and I hope that some of this investment helps our local businesses to grow even more.”
