A Malvern Post Office is becoming a national success story after it expanded to fill the gap after a local bank closed down.
The Barnards Green post office has seen a massive uplift in business after the local Lloyds Bank branch closed down earlier this month and the shop is showing record trading figures.
The Post Office, run by Jennifer Cain, has worked with the local traders to encourage businesses to bank at the store instead of travelling to their own bank. This has seen an uplift in customers and many more people using the Post Office for services like paying in money, passport renewals, travel insurance and foreign currency.
Harriett commented: “Jennifer is doing an amazing job working with the local community to get more people using the Barnards Green Post Office for so much more than just buying a stamp.
“With the national bank network shrinking, it is good to see our Post Offices stepping up and helping local traders to bank as close to their businesses as possible.
“This is a classic example of a locally-led solution and I am pleased to help spread the word and celebrate a great Malvern success story.”
